ANIMAL WORLD (4) Good Morning Students. Yesterday we learnt about Herbivores, Carnivores and Omnivores. I hope you all have done the fill in the blanks in your notebook. Today we will learn about the feeding habits of these animals. What is feeding? Feeding is the process by which an animal obtains its food. Feeding habits of different animals Different animals eat different types of food. Their manner of eating is also different. Accordingly, their mouth is also modified to suit their mode of eating. HERBIVORES Herbivores like deer,cow, goat and giraffe eat grass and leaves. They have sharp front teeth(incisors) to cut their food and strong, broad teeth in the back (molars) for grinding food. Cows and buffaloes bite the grass and swallow it. Later, they bring back the food into their mouth and chew it slowly. This activity is called chewing the cud.
